Terms of Service

1. About EkoVendy

EkoVendy (vendorhub.com) is an online marketplace that enables Lagos-based vendors to create storefronts and sell products to buyers. EkoVendy acts as a marketplace platform and payment escrow service only — we are not the seller of record. Contracts of sale are formed directly between vendors and buyers.

2. Eligibility

By using EkoVendy you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts under Nigerian law. If you are registering as a vendor on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these terms.

3. Vendor Accounts

  • Creating a vendor account is free. A one-time activation fee of ₦1,000 is required to publish your storefront and begin receiving orders.
  • EkoVendy charges a platform fee on every completed order based on your active plan. Fee percentages are shown in your dashboard.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings, pricing, and stock availability.
  • You must not list counterfeit, stolen, prohibited, or illegal goods.
  • You are solely responsible for fulfilling orders and arranging delivery to buyers.
  • EkoVendy reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove any vendor account found to be in violation of these terms, without prior notice.

4. Payment & Escrow Protection

EkoVendy operates a secure escrow system on all transactions. This protects both buyers and vendors.

How escrow works

  1. Buyer pays via Paystack — funds are held securely by EkoVendy, not the vendor.
  2. Vendor receives the order and arranges delivery.
  3. Once the buyer confirms receipt, EkoVendy releases payment to the vendor within 24 hours.
  4. If the buyer does not confirm or raise a dispute within 48 hours of the order being marked as delivered, payment is automatically released to the vendor.
  5. If the buyer raises a valid dispute within the 48-hour window, EkoVendy reviews the claim before any funds are released.
  • All payments are processed securely through Paystack.
  • Vendors can view their pending payout balance in real time on the dashboard.
  • Payout release timelines begin from the moment the order is marked as delivered — not from the purchase date.
  • EkoVendy charges no fees on payouts. Platform fees are deducted at the point of order, not at payout.

5. Buyer Purchases

  • By placing an order you enter into a direct agreement with the vendor.
  • Your payment is held in escrow and is never released to the vendor until delivery is confirmed or the 48-hour auto-release window expires.
  • Buyers must confirm delivery or raise a dispute within 48 hours of an order being marked as delivered. After this window, payment is automatically released to the vendor and disputes are no longer accepted.
  • To raise a dispute, visit your order tracking page and tap "Raise a Dispute" before the window closes.
  • EkoVendy is not liable for delivery failures, damaged goods, or vendor non-performance beyond the dispute resolution process described below.

6. Dispute Resolution

If a buyer raises a valid dispute within the 48-hour protection window, EkoVendy will:

  • Review evidence submitted by both the buyer and the vendor.
  • Either issue a full refund to the buyer or release payment to the vendor, at EkoVendy's sole discretion.
  • If the dispute is found to be the vendor's fault, a strike will be recorded against the vendor's trust score. Repeat violations may result in account suspension.
  • EkoVendy's decision is final.

See our Refund Policy for full details on how refunds are processed.

7. Prohibited Use

You must not use EkoVendy to:

  • Engage in fraudulent transactions or impersonate another person or business.
  • Circumvent payment processing or attempt to avoid platform fees.
  • Collude with a buyer or vendor to manipulate the escrow or dispute system.
  • Harvest user data or use automated tools to scrape the platform.
  • List or sell illegal products under Nigerian law.

8. Intellectual Property

EkoVendy and its logo are proprietary. Vendors retain ownership of their product images and descriptions but grant EkoVendy a licence to display this content on the platform for the duration of their active account.

9. Limitation of Liability

EkoVendy is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, EkoVendy shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform, including lost sales, delivery failures, or third-party payment processor issues.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of EkoVendy after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify registered vendors of material changes by email.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
